Outreach Services
One of the major goals of the Arts Center is to expand programs and services to facilities and organizations in Russellville and in other River Valley towns, especially those that are within our three-county service area of Pope, Johnson, and Yell Counties.
Downtown Art Walk - is a event held in conjunction with Main Street Russellville and the businesses in Russellville's central business district. More than 20 retailers and other establishments invite artists to be present and exhibit their 2-D & 3-D art work. Musicians entertain and delight you - hors d' oeuvres refresh you- meet old friends and make new ones! Be ready for a fun event- the first Friday of the months of March, June, October and December from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. There is no charge - just bring family and friends or meet them there for an evening of fun as you preview great works of art, food and drink, and business merchandise.
Holiday Jubilee- This is the Art Center's major fund raising event held annually in early fall. The event is held ithe Friday before Thanksgiving. Party goers are treated to a plethora of food artfully arranged, Sweeden's Florist and Cathy's Florist alternate years in providing elegantly decorated serving tables. Jazz Reunion band, accompanied by vocalists Holly Gale and Emory Tyson Molitor, bring party music for your listening and dancing pleasure. The silent and live auction items concentrate on original art, but trips, parties, dinners, and many items and services donated by local merchants are auctioned in a relaxed, fun party atmosphere.
The commitment of the Arts Center Board of Directors is obvious in their dedication to this major event. Each Board member 'obligates' themselves (2X2) to sponsoring a unique cultural dinner party at their own expense for a minimum of 24 people. This makes for some excellent food and entertainment as well as helping bring the Arts to Everyone!
pARTy in the Park - A partnership with Russellville Department of Parks and Recreation and River Valley Prevention Coalition allows the Arts Center to hold an annual community art festival, pARTy in the Park. Volunteers, Board members and staff create a day full of fun, art, musical entertainment, visual excitement and special activities for all ages and abilities. There are free games and art-n-craft projects, bump-and-jump and other activities for the kids as well as vendors for carnival type games and food. Free admission. This event is held the fourth Saturday in April in City Park, the Arts Center and Hughes Community Center. Starting at 10:00 a.m. - Come on by for a fun family day!
Other Events - Beaus Arts Academy, book signings, Boy and Girls Scout Art Badge Days, Weddings and Receptions in the Memorial Garden, small group or business meetings in the beautiful surroundings of the Arts Center and Russellville City Park are just a few of the special events held at the Arts Center.
