Summer musical theatre

If you did not see South Pacific this past week-end, be sure and attend Thursday, Friday or Sunday. If you miss it, you will miss some of the greatest orchestra and vocal renditions of these classic songs and a touching story with excellent acting and dancing by our local talented residents...your friends and neighbors whose acting ability and the beautiful setting transport you to a South Pacific island.
Thursday and Friday performances start at Witherspoon Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. with a Sunday matinee at 2:00 p.m. General admission tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students with children age 5 and under free. There is a $2 discount per ticket for Arts Center members.
Reserved seating is available in advance and may be purchased at the Arts Center, 1001 East B Street, Russellville or by credit card at 479.968.2452. July Exhibit Opening Reception Delayed

The Opening Reception for the July Exhibit will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. the second Sunday in the month, July 12, instead of the usual date of July 5 because of the long holiday week-end. We have a special treat this month, a husband and wife couple, Eve and David Mudrinich, both will be showing their works of art. Come hear their gallery talk, view their art, enjoy refreshments and visit and network with other artists and friends. Arts Center board members Juanita Luessen and Lodema Jensen are hosts for the reception.

Artist Angela Anderson will be the instructor for the Family Sunday Funday held in the classroom in conjunction with the Exhibit Reception. Parents are invited to bring their children to view the exhibit and introduce them to fine art and the artists who created the pieces. They then can create an art piece to take home with them. Supplies are furnished.

Both events are free and open to the public.

OFF SITE EXHIBITS
The July Exhibit at Lake Dardanelle State Park Visitor Center will feature the works of artist Billie Jo Hawkins.

The Russellville Branch Pope County Library will host paintings from several artists: Gary Adkins, Carey Hilburn, and an artist rendering of the Dardanelle Dam painted by Felix Dunagan (deceased) prior to the construction.

There are also new works of art in the dining room of Russellville Country Club for visitors and guests to enjoy.

ART ON EXHBIT AT NEW AIRPORT TERMINAL

Several paintings by local artists are now on exhibit at the new airport terminal building which opened recently and celebrated their grand opening last Wednesday. Art work by Bill Garrison, Bonnie Peyton, Paula Steel, Darlene McNeely and Marion Hotz were displayed to add to the décor of the facility and introduce visitors and guests to the abundance and ability of local artists in the River Valley.

The works of art at the Arts Center and in all these locations are for your enjoyment as well as for sale. We encourage you to consider purchasing original pieces from local artists for your home, office or gift giving.
